Wendy received her Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Marriage & Family Therapy in 2010. Additionally, She holds a Bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University in Applied Psychology, which she received in 1993. Since that time, she has worked in multiple roles within the mental health field, including schools, agencies, residential services, in-home services, and outpatient clinic settings.
Wendy is currently enrolled in a Ph.D program in Performance Psychology. Her primary areas of professional interest include providing services to women struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, and post- trauma stress . She is a certified DBT therapist, and is passionate about cultivating her knowledge and skills to tailor treatment around personal motivation and change.
Wendy’s approach to therapy is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma informed, creating a safe space from which to explore long held beliefs and patterns that often keep people stuck. She enthusiastically holds the hand of her clients, so they feel more supported on their journeys of self- discovery and living with greater purpose. She believes that emotional,, physical, and spiritual health are possible for all individuals. When people are empowered with the tools necessary for personal growth and healing, real change happens., Wendy believes wholeheartedly in a mind-body-spirit approach to therapy, and practices from a lens which examines the causes, rather than simply treating the symptoms of illness.
Wendy’s interests include increasing her knowledge and skills through additional coursework, yoga, meditation, spending time with her kids, animals, nature, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, singing and listening to music and the performing arts.
